iPhone 6S Rumors: Front Camera Flash, 1080p Video Recording

Rumors have emerged the upcoming iPhone 6S will have improved front facing camera features and 1080p video recording.

A developer recently came upon an iOS 9 manifest revealing operation system support for the future iPhones.

Develpper Hamza Sood tweeted a screen grab of the new front-camera features not present in any of the current iPhones in the market, including the iPhone 6. The iOS 9 list hinted future iPhone front cameras, which may include the iPhone 6S, will boast of 1080p resolution with 240fps slow motion video recording, LED flash, and panoramic selfie capture technology (panoselfie).

With 1080p video recording, the iPhone 6S' camera may likely come with a minimum of 2.1MP resolution with a front-facing LED flash to go with it.

In previously circulating rumors, the iPhone 6S line is expected to have a rear dual-camera setup with a 12MP rear shooter.

With improved front camera features, users will not only benefit from improved selfies, but upgraded FaceTime conversations, and better user experience with video streaming apps like Periscope, as well.

While the lines of code on the screen grab posted by Sood aren't a guarantee these front-facing camera features will appear in the iPhone 6S, it may point out to the possibility Apple is looking into upgrading the front-facing camera features in its upcoming devices.

The iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus s expected to be released in September this year with focus on internal improvements instead of an updated external appearance.

The phones' screen sizes are pegged at 4.7-inches and 5.5 inches, respectively, and may come encased in the same 7000 series lightweight aluminum as the Apple Watch.

Both phones are rumored to be equipped with a faster A9 processor, a 12MP rear camera, 2GB of RAM, an additional mic for enhanced voice quality, Touch ID support, Apple Pay, and the Force Touch technology used in the Apple Watch.
