iPhone 7 Jet Black vs iPhone 7 Matte Black Comparison Review; Which is Better? Specs, Features and Pricing [DETAILS]
Apple iPhone 7 Has Two Black Color Options
The iPhone 7 is being offered in two black color options.
This makes it the first time since the first iPhone's introduction to have the device in two black color options. The two colors are matte black and jet black. The first one is not glossy, while the other one is. Whether the matte black or jet black looks better, it's the consumer's decision. Here are the things that we know:
iPhone 7 Color Comparison: Jet Black vs Matte Black
Apple recently introduced their newest iPhone 7 series in an event last week. One of the highlights during the event was when they announced that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will come in two black color options: jet black and matte black.
Business Insider cites a YouTube reviewer named Marques Brownlee who reviewed the phones in both colors. The iPhone 7 in jet black looks more polished and shiny which makes its downside very obvious: fingerprints. It looks beautiful up close, but it is very prone to smudging because of its glossy finish.
Brownlee had a preference for the iPhone 7 matte black because of its non-glossy nature. It is not prone to scratching and fingerprints, unlike the jet black one. Furthermore, the reviewer said that the jet black is more slippery than the matte black, which means that there is a higher chance of it being on the floor due to clumsy handling.
Whether the iPhone 7 is in jet black or matte black, the specs remain the same. It all boils down to customer preference.
iPhone 7 Preorders Sold Out - Jet Black First to Go
According to Daily Mail, the preorders for the new Apple iPhone 7 were sold out a few minutes after it was announced. The jet black colored ones were apparently the first ones to be sold out. However, there are iPhone 7 devices that are available for preorder in other colors. The iPhone 7 series was introduced to be available in five colors including jet black, matte black, rose gold, gold and silver.
The iPhone 7 series will be on retail stores during this week on Sept. 16, Friday. For those who want to get their hands on the jet black models, the outlet says that Apple will replenish their supplies by November.
