iPhone 7 News and Release Date: Redesigned Home Button Coming With the New Apple Installment? Features, Specs and Price Details
The New Apple iPhone 7 Could Bid Goodbye to the Traditional Headphone Jack
When the iPhone 7 launches by the fourth quarter of this year, leaks of the upcoming device reveal that it will have a redesigned and improved home button.
Home Button Similar to MacBook Trackpad?
The touch-sensitive home button could be developed just like the trackpad of the MacBook Pro, providing a better user experience for users. The same report claimed that recent leaks of the much-awaited iPhone release showed that the home button could also be flat and clickable.
This feature will be one of the most exciting offerings of the new iPhone 7, but because of the touch-sensitive technology, it would be expensive to replace.
Say Goodbye to the Headphone Jack
The upcoming Apple phone could also remove the 3.5mm headphone jack and replace this audio output with a Lightning or Bluetooth connectivity.
Apple Insider added that the package of the iPhone 7 will include the usual EarPods but with an adapter so that owners can still use it via other traditional audio sources. This is considered to be a way for Apple to save costs since no money will be spent to design and produce new Lightning Earpods.
With the possible removal of the headphone jack, it could be replaced with an additional speaker to improve the iPhone 7's audio. These speakers will be protected with grilles just like in the iPhone 6 series.
Storage and Design
The iPhone 7 could also come with 256GB of storage just like the iPad Pro. The bigger data bank is necessary to store high-resolution photos and videos taken by its main and secondary cameras.
Earlier models of the iPhone were made available in 16GB, 64GB and 128 GB variants. Macrumors highlighted that it is still unclear if the 256GB storage will only be made available for the 5.5-inch model or also for the 4.7-inch model of the new iPhone.
In terms of design, the iPhone 7 and the bigger iPhone 7 Plus could have the same design as the iPhone 6s sans the headphone jack. Technology experts also claimed that the new model could have the same display of the previous Apple units.
The iPhone 7 is expected to be released in September and could be sold for a starting price of $650 for the 32GB variant.
