iPhone 7 Release Date: Waterproof, Sapphire Crystal Glass And Wireless Charging Among The Rumored Specs

Reports and rumors regarding the iPhone 7 continues to surface even though its actual arrival is still far away. According to International Business Times, Apple's next flagship smartphone is expected to carry specs and features that will surpass its predecessors.

Fans are hoping that the tech giant will release something fresh this time after iPhone 6s. And as Tech Times reported, the iPhone 7 may be waterproof. The source said that a recent public disclosure by the United States Patent and Trademark Office revealed that Apple filed a patent in May of last year. This filing may actually make the next iPhone device waterproof.

Another thing rumored to come with the seventh installment of the iPhone series is a sapphire crystal glass. It was previously tipped to come with the iPhone 6 and 6s but apparently, it did not come. There's a possibility that the iPhone 7 will be the one to wear the crown if rumors are true.

Wireless charging is also speculated to be featured in the device. It's not a new thing anymore to most major smartphone makers but Apple has yet to introduce it. Several Apple users have been clamoring for a way to be able to charge their phones while in the comfort of their seats or beds.

In terms of the design, it's possible that the company will try to give a new look to their next handset. The iPhone device has not had major changes in the design department for years except for the increase in size. So it's possible that the seventh one will be the first carrier of a different look.

iDigital Times reported that rumors indicate that the iPhone 7 will carry an A10 system on a chip (SoC) which will be located at the core of the device. It's also said the device will carry a super thin frame measuring 6mm thick. However, this may possibly affect the battery pack. Making the smartphone slimmer will mean a smaller battery. Many iPhone users have already complained about the battery's short life.

Apple's iPhone 7 is speculated to arrive sometime mid-2016. There's no confirmation yet to any of the information released so fans will just have to watch out and stay tuned for updates.
