iPhone X Screen Repair News: How Much Will It Cost to Repair the Edge-to-Edge Screen?

iPhone X owners without the AppleCare+ warranty plan will be paying a lot of money when they need to repair the device's edge-to-edge screen made of organic light emitting diode (OLED) panels.

In time for the start of iPhone X pre-orders last Oct. 27, Apple has updated the details on the iPhone service pricing for future repairs that iPhone X owners might need.

Broken iPhone X screen will cost $279 while repair for "other damage" is priced starting at $549.

Apple reminds that these prices only apply to iPhone X owners who chose not to pay the extra $199 for AppleCare+ warranty. iPhone X screen repairs for devices not covered by the regular Apple warranty or any provision of the consumer law will have to pay the said amounts.

Meanwhile, Apple also reminds that the said pricing only applies to "accidental damages" — which is not covered by the regular free Apple warranty.

On the other hand, iPhone X owners with AppleCare+ warranty plan will still pay for a screen repair but for a much lower price — at least for the first two incidents of accidental damage.

It is also important to note that the "two incidents" allowance is applicable to both screen repair and other damage. For example, if within the AppleCare+ warranty period an iPhone X screen broke, the owner has the option to apply the first incident allowance and pay just $29. He will be left with one remaining incident allowance for the rest of the AppleCare+ duration.

Meanwhile, other damage fees under the AppleCare+ will cost $99 only for all iPhones. iPhone owners should also remember that the above-mentioned prices are still without tax.

As soon as the all-glass iPhone 8 series were released for pre-order in September, Apple also announced that non-warranty repairs for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus screens will cost $149 and $169, respectively.
