Is 'Basketball Wives' Fake? Jennifer Williams and Evelyn Lozada Feud Raises Questions
"Basketball Wives" co-stars Jennifer Williams and Evelyn Lozada, recently took to their VH1 blogs to address their explosive feud and critics have started questioning just how real the show is.
In Monday night's Season 4 premiere episode of "Basketball Wives," a show which follows the chaotic lives of women who are linked to NBA players, viewers were given a glimpse into the apparent feud between Williams, 37, and best friend turned enemy Lozada, 36.
Lozada, who is the ex-wife of NBA star Antoine Walker, is currently engaged to NFL star Chad Ochocinco and Williams is the estranged wife of NBA star Eric Williams.
The two, who have spent prior seasons joined at the hip, spent a significant part of the episode bickering, gossiping about one another and even hurling insults at one another, and later took to their blogs to explain where the sudden feud stemmed from.
"As you heard on tonight's show, Evelyn is upset with me about a blog that was written by my publicist...Tonight the world witnessed for themselves the type of evil I am dealing with. These words pretty much sum up the state of affairs," Williams wrote.
"Basically [Jennifer] is still dissing my relationship and my fiance. What type of so-called friend would have the audacity to do that? This is very hurtful to me because I thought she was a true friend," Lozada wrote.
After the episode aired, viewers took to Twitter to weigh in on the feud, and while some have likened the pair's actions to that of teenage tantrums, others are convinced the feud has been staged in a bid to boost ratings.
"Watching basketball wives and I'm starting to think it's fake, there just can't be this much drama in real life lol I love Evelyn though," Ashlie Mccoy tweeted.
"Evelyn is now annoying she needs to grow up, she is about to be a wife for goodness sake. How can she want to hit Jen!really," Lerato Nicola Moyo tweeted.
