ISIS News: Alleged Russian Spy Beheaded in New Video
On Wednesday, the Islamic State released a new video showing the beheading of a man it claims to have entered the terrorist group's territory and turned out to be a Russian spy.
In the propaganda video, the Russian speaks first before being beheaded. According to Heavy, the Russian calls himself Khasiev Magomid, an alleged spy sent by the Chechen Federal Security Service.
Magomid stares into the camera and explains that he landed on ISIS territory August of last year, coming from his home in the Chechen city of Grozny. He also says he has been charged with "gathering names, photos, and information about Islamic State fighters."
While there are no English subtitles on the video, multiple outlets provide an English translation of the Islamic State fighter who beheaded Magomid. Before killing Magomid, the ISIS soldier says, "You will not find peace in your homes. We will kill your sons...for every son you killed here."
The most chilling statement of the jihadist is addressed directly to Russian President Vladimir Putin. "Listen, Putin the dog, the [Assad] regime bombed us before you came and then America and its coward allies bombed us. Oh Russian infidels, we've been waiting for you," the jihadist bravely says.
It is not the first time that ISIS released videos showing the beheading of its hostages as there have been a good number of hostages beheaded and executed in many different ways. Some of the victims were charged with crimes that the extremists believe are against their Islamic faith.
CNN says it wasn't able to obtain comments from the Russian government regarding its stand on whether Magomid was indeed of Russian decent. It is also unclear if the video was indeed an authentic ISIS release.
Titled "You Shall be Disappointed and Humiliated O Russians," the video is just one of the many ways that the ISIS triggers fear among countries that aim to block its terrorist activities.
