ISIS news: Bombing 'planner' shows no regrets, terror group flaunts U.S.-made M16 rifles
Eleven months after his capture, Abu Abdullah is still the stone-hearted terrorist he had been famously known for as he shares how the Islamic State used his skills for its suicide bombing rackets.
Known as "the planner" among his bosses, he is responsible for sending out suicide bombers to destroy mosques, universities, checkpoints, market places, and several other locations in the Iraqi capital.
According to The Guardian, the Baghdad commander's movements left more than 100 people dead, including children and women.
In his interview that took three months of negotiations as he is one of the most sensitive among the prisoners, Abdullah shared how last year, he prepared for the deployment of 15 bombers before his arrest.
Watching from nearby, he would wait for the bombers to blow themselves up. He clarified that most of the people who were killed or injured in his orchestrated attacks are members of security forces.
The recruited suicide bombers first needed to report to "the planner" before any attack was made. "I met them at the door, and first I would greet them and look at them to see if they were ready," he said. "Then we would sit down to pray and read the Qur'an."
Abdullah, whose real name is Ibrahim Ammar Ali al-Khazali, confidently claimed that all the bombers he sent out succeeded and none of them ran away or lost the will to die for the ISIS.
When asked what his message was to the west, he said, "Islam is coming. What the Islamic State has achieved in the past year cannot be undone. The caliphate is a reality."
Meanwhile, the terror group has released a video showing its Iraqi fighters making use of what appeared to be American-made weapons.
According to NBC News, the American M16 rifles used by fighters undergoing training, as seen in the video, could have been the ones left by U.S. forces or those seized from Iraqi security forces and soldiers.
