'IT' Teaser Trailer Features Pennywise, The Losers' Club
Warner Bros. recently released the first official teaser for "IT," the upcoming horror film based on Stephen King's novel of the same name. And needless to say, the trailer offers up a lot of terrors that are enough to give viewers nightmares.
The teaser trailer, which lasts a little over two and a half minutes, starts out with two brothers--Bill and Georgie. Bill gives Georgie a boat made out of paper and it is clear that the two siblings are close. In the rain, Georgie releases his paper boat onto the streaming street gutter but bumping his head causes him to lose track of it. The boat falls down a sewer and a disappointed Georgie takes a peek inside. He is startled as Pennywise the clown suddenly appears.
The clip then transitions to show the small town of Derry, where, recently, "people die or disappear six times the national average." A floating red balloon, a signature of It (aka Pennywise), can be seen making its way through what looks to be a library. A group of kids called The Losers' Club, led by Jaeden Lieberher's Bill, is then shown exploring the sewers and visiting a dilapidated house.
The same kids, which includes Finn Wolfhard from "Stranger Things," gather together and figure out that It lives in the sewers, showing a map of the town's sewage system through a slide projector. The kids panic though when the slide projector starts flipping through the images on its own, eventually showing It.
It does not stop there. The video also features a lot of disturbing things happening as well as a jump scare of It going crazy.
The upcoming film will be the first of two, with the second one focusing on members of The Losers' Club as adults as they go back to the town of Derry to fight against Pennywise once again and get rid of him for good.
"IT" will premiere on Sept. 8, 2017 in U.S. theaters.
