'iZombie' Season 2 Spoilers, Cast News: Blaine Has a New Business Agenda in the Coming Season 2
It seems that Blaine will be bringing something new to season 2 of "iZombie." David Anders, who plays Blaine, recently revealed to MTV News that his character will be having a new business in the new season.
According to Anders, "He does have a new business, and there's a lot less killing. He's [also] got ... a more square wardrobe for his new job. It's nice to play Blaine in a suit." There will also be a lot of challenges to Blain as he continuously aims to "present himself as a zombie to his customers." Executive producer Rob Thomas revealed that Blaine's new endeavors will be focused on catering to the undead. He shared the ways Blaine will try to maintain his façade, saying, "We might have funny scenes where we see him putting on white face instead of trying to tan himself because he needs to pass himself off as a zombie. He still wants those customers to fear him. [So] we're going to have fun with that."
Furthermore, Blaine will still choose to be protected by zombies. In season 1, many say Major (Robert Buckley) eliminated Blaine's zombie security squad; however, it won't be much of a challenge for him to replace the lost people immediately. Thomas shared that there will be one new main bodyguard that Blaine will prize among others. Thomas goes, "He still surrounds himself with big dudes who can protect him and his best interests. He had to re-up, obviously. We've got this great new henchman called Chief this year that fans are gonna love."
Lastly, an official synopsis for the premiere was already released. The premiere episode is entitled "Grumpy Old Live" and it states, "Liv (Rose McIver) consumes the brains of a cantankerous old man to help gain insight into his death. After receiving an anonymous call on the tipster hotline, Liv and Detective Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin) stop by the residence of Byron (Adam Rose), to question the mysterious caller. Meanwhile, Ravi (Rahul Kohli) suspects that Major might be experiencing a side effect of the cure, and Liv pays Blaine a surprise visit."
The season 2 of "iZombie" will premiere on Oct. 6, Tuesday at 8 p.m. on The CW.
