'iZombie' Season 2 News: Will Show Be Renewed for Season 3?
"iZombie" season 2 showcased solid episodes so far, and with decent TV ratings, viewers wonder if the show will be renewed for a third season.
According to Carter Matt, the likelihood for "iZombie" to see season 3 is very high. The website said that the show is getting an average of 0.6 in the 18-49 demographic this season, which is similar to what the other shows of The CW, such as "Arrow," "The Flash," and "Supernatural," are doing based on the numbers game.
Another reason why the zombie series might be renewed is because of its solid fan base. The show already has a loyal following, and viewers are looking forward to each episode to see what personality Liv (Rose McIver) might be embodying. Plus, "iZombie" has Rob Thomas as its producer, and he has a credible history in producing hit TV series in the past, like "Veronica Mars."
Even The CW president, Mark Pedowitz, is proud on what the show has achieved in its second season. According to TV.com, Pedowitz said that "iZombie" is definitely stronger this year, which is probably the reason why the show "has a very good shot at getting a third season." "I think Malcolm [Goodwin], Rose [McIver], [and] Rahul [Kohli] have done a great job in terms of what they're going for," he told the reporters during the recent TCA winter press tour.
Meanwhile, the synopsis of the upcoming "iZombie" episode, which is titled "Fifty Shades of Grey Matter," was posted on The Futon Critic, and it reads, "Things become interesting for Liv (Rose McIver) when she and Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) investigate the murder of a young librarian, who was also secretly an erotic fiction writer. Meanwhile, things heat up between Blaine (David Anders) and someone quite unexpected. Lastly, Major (Robert Buckley) is hit with an unforeseen snag in his plan."
The episode was written by Deirdre Mangan and was directed by Mairzee Almas. Kristen Bell will guest-star in a voice-over role.
Watch "iZombie" season 2 episode 11 on Feb. 2, Tuesday, on The CW network.
