'iZombie' season 2 plot news: Evan returns

The second season of "iZombie" is expected to see the return of Nick Purcha.

Season 1 of the series left off with Evan, played by Purcha, involved in a gas-induced explosion. With that, Liv, played by Rose McIver, was left wondering about the fate of her brother after seeing him in an operating room.

The doctors then announced that Evan needs blood transfusion. However, Liv could not provide him blood because she did not want to turn her brother into a zombie. Therefore, fans were curious about what is the fate of Evan in the series. However, Purcha hinted at the possibility that he will be returning. Recently, Purcha posted on his Twitter account clues that Evan survived his time in the operating room.

However, it was still not confirmed whether he survived through Liv providing blood or if he did not need it at all. If Liv did end up providing him with blood, the season will have to portray Evan as a zombie. That will present an interesting shift in the story. Another speculation stated that instead he received the blood from his father. It was previously announced that Live and Evan's father will be shown in the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, McIver shared details about what else to expect for season 2. She said, "We pick up a few months later and so decisions have been made. Lives have been lost or lived through, and so it's going to be...Liv's world have changed a lot. A lot of people who mattered to her in her life know, and whether they accept her or don't accept her is going to really shift a lot of the dynamics for season Two."

Fans will have to wait for the answers to these questions next month. iZombie season 2 is expected to air on Oct. 6.
