Jack Osbourne, Wife Lisa Suffer Late-Term Miscarriage: 'All We Can Do is Trust God'
Jack Osbourne and wife Lisa confirmed this week that they suffered a late-term miscarriage. The couple already has one daughter, Pearl, and were expecting a son.
"I have been dreading this announcement," Lisa wrote on her blog. "I needed some time before being able to say it. Jack and I lost our baby boy last week. Having a late-term miscarriage is by far the hardest thing either of us have ever had to go through."
The couple has been through some devastating news. Last year, Jack revealed that he was battling multiple sclerosis. Even though he has been in remission from time to time, he has also suffered several relapses. It's a progressive disease that he must stay in control of if possible.
Lisa runs a blog about motherhood and takes care of daughter Pearl when Jack is away from home. She notes on the blog that she is "whole-heartedly dedicated to teaching parents every bit of knowledge I come across whether it be from my amazing Homeopathic Doctor, a nutritionist, or even just a life experience from myself or a friend."
Jack just announced that he will be starring on "Dancing With The Stars," a sign that his health is much better than it once was. He was excited to be participating and is looking forward to the competition. The pair is turning to God in light of their loss and relying upon one another as well.
"It's important to stay hopeful and optimistic through life's toughest moments. We never know why things like this happen. All we can do is trust in God and know he has a plan for our lives," Lisa wrote on the blog. "We appreciate all of your prayers and ask for privacy and respect during this time."
The high-profile couple has received an outpouring of condolences and prayers from family, friends, and fans. They are also spending quite a bit of time together whenever possible, given Jack's schedule for "Dancing With the Stars."
"Cuddling my amazing, sweet hubby & shutting my eyes. Thank you for all the love & support. It means the world," Lisa tweeted to followers.
They are surely taking comfort in their 16-month-old daughter Pearl, who has been the light of their lives for the past year. Jack and Lisa will celebrate their first wedding anniversary next month.
