Jada Pinkett Smith Marriage Rumors: 'Ridiculous'

After relentless reports that her marriage was on the rocks, Jada Pinkett Smith has finally spoken out about her marriage.

The actress has been married to Will Smith for 13 years and shares two children with him. In recent months, the media has pored over rumors and reports that the couple was separating.

Smith admitted that she does not know why her marriage has come under so much scrutiny while speaking to the French magazine Gala recently.

"I have no idea," the 40-year-old said about where the rumors derived. "Every year, one celebrity couple is under the microscope. This year, unluckily, it's us! I almost want to say that we should have been expecting it."

She and her husband are indifferent to the gossip though, as Smith added, "Will and I know the truth. We're waiting peacefully for the storm to blow over."

Despite the couple issuing a statement last year that their marriage was "intact," rumors of a split have persisted. Further clearing the air, Smith acknowledged that she and her husband spend a lot of time apart because of their careers.

"These rumors are completely untrue," reiterated Smith. "I travel a lot because of my work, just like Will does … But our lifestyle hasn't changed. Before we had the kids, we were already far away from each other quite often because of separate projects."

Smith also responded to the rumor that she and Will live in separate houses.

"That's ridiculous," said the actress. "We've always lived together."

The Smiths share children Jaden, 13, and Willow, 11, as well as Will's son from his first marriage, Trey, who is 18.

Rumors of the split were hard to believe, with Will Smith telling MTV in 2006, "Divorce can't be an option. With Jada, I stood up in front of God and said, 'Til death do us part.' So there are two possible outcomes. One, we are going to be together till death, or two, I am dead."
