Jaden and Willow Smith Surprise Fans With New Song
Jaden Smith, 14-year-old son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith, has teamed up with 12-year-old sister Willow in a song that seems to be surprising listeners.
In the song called "Kite," the Smith son raps about being lost and his relationship with women. While he seems to want to engage a love interest in one of his verses, the actor and rapper reminds listeners that he is only 14 by speaking about his curfew.
"Your motion, got me roller coasting, I want all in your ocean [...] I give you kisses on your neck and chill after my curfew/ I treat you with respect and girl I never would hurt you," Jaden raps. "..and I'm gonn find me a actress with long hair, nice skin, does backflips and red lips and she don't need chopsticks. But I'mma be here with my clan soon as you land, you got flowers in your hand."
Smith's sister Willow chimes in, to both sing and rap on the record with her older brother.
"Lost in space and I see your face on mars no trace but I find you in them stars, I'll chase you 'til this planet falls/ lil mama got bar, lil mama got bars," Willow raps before singing. "You stare into my eyes, I know you hear my cries 'cause you look at the sky/ You wanna fly? I got the kite I got the kite for you to fly."
After listening to the collaboration featuring the young entertainers and siblings, multiple fans expressed their shock at the talent showcased by the Smith children.
"This is actually unexpected, this is what i call music and I'm 21 saying this," one person commented on the video posted to Jaden's official Youtube channel. "Good Job To Jaden."
However, some people questioned if the content being spoken about on "Kite" was appropriate for the young teenager and his soon-to-be teenage little sister.
"Cool song but I think they should tone it down a bit," another person commented on the Youtube video. "They're too young to even understand this stuff, let own sing about it."
Will Smith, the 44-year-old father of the "Kite" singer and rapper, spoke candidly about disciplining his children to entertainment television show host Shaun Robinson last Spring.
"Listen -- look, that's a handful. That Willow, she is, uh… You see, boys are easy," Smith told Access Hollywood. "Like, it's really easy with boys. It's like, until you can beat me in a fist fight you've gotta do what I say!"
