Jake Owen Engaged, Country Singer Surprises Girlfriend
Country music star Jake Owen has become engaged to his girlfriend Lacey Buchanan after surprising her before friends and family in his home town Saturday night.
Owen performed his song "Don't Think I Can't Love You" at the Citrus Bowl at Vero Beach High, his alma mater, before asking Buchanan to join him on stage. After what appeared to be a dance, the singer got down on one knee and asked Buchanan to marry him before a full audience.
Owen's impromptu proposal was just missing one thing. Over the speakers, he was heard explaining the missing engagement ring to Buchanan, reported People magazine.

"You're probably wondering where your ring is, right," said the 30-year-old before referencing the lyrics of his song.
"I just said I can't buy you a big diamond ring or a big old house on the hill, but I promise you I'll love you forever and ever and ever," said the singer before he finished the song singing directly to Buchanan.
Despite the surprising proposal, Buchanan said yes. Members of the audience noted the seemingly impulsive proposal.
"He seemed to spontaneously decide to bring her out on stage and propose to her," one fan said, according to People.
"He was talking about how he's thrown his hat up on the fifty yard line [during his high school graduation ceremony] and now he was here in front of friends and family, and it seemed like the most appropriate [venue]," said another concertgoer.
On Easter Sunday, Owen posted a content message on his Twitter account.
"I'm a happy man," wrote the singer. "Life is complete."
Buchanan met Owen on the set of his music video for the song "Eight Second Ride." She has also appeared in his video for "Barefoot Blue Jean Night."
Last year, Owen was rumored to have been dating tennis star Serena Williams after the pair were spotted dining together in Los Angeles.
Williams silenced the rumors by posting on her Twitter account, "I am not dating Jake Owen. He is a great guy with a super amazing girlfriend."
In 2011, Owen joined Keith Urban on his Get Closer world tour. He has also toured as an opening act for country music stars such as Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Little Big Town, and Sugarland.
