James Fortune to Star in New Church Restoration Series, 'Fix It!'
Gospel singer James Fortune has announced that he'll be hosting a new TV series in which he and his team will help restore churches in desperate need of repairs.
Fortune, known as the leader of the gospel music collective James Fortune and Fiya, took to Instagram to reveal that he's gearing up to host Impact Television Network's series in development called "Fix It."
"Hey family, I'm the host of a brand new TV show 'Fix It' coming soon on Impact Network which is in over 80 million Homes. We're ready to get your house of worship back in order," he wrote. "Repairs, pews, lobby, roof, painting, etc., if it's broken let's fix it! I'm super excited about this and many of you have been inquiring on how your church could possibly be on this show."
According to a synopsis of the series on Trending Now TV, Fortune and his team will also help bring healing to those who worship inside the four walls, including the pastor and his wife.
"A DIY team of do-gooders help churches fix what's wrong outside and inside the church walls. When it's broken, they call James Fortune," a description of the show states.
"Sometimes the fix starts with breaking down walls of confusion and healing hidden emotions," the synopsis continues. "James and his team ignite churches across the nation to excellence. They will fix anything, the choir, the roof, the congregation, the first lady and perhaps the pastor!"
Fortune's new series comes after his own personal struggles with anger which led to him being ordered by a judge to go to therapy after being charged with an assault that he committed against his now ex-wife, Cheryl, in 2014, which was reported by ABC13.
"I wasn't right. I struggled in different areas of my life, but one of my main struggles was being able to control anger," Fortune told "The Yolanda Adams Morning Show" in 2015. "Anger management was an issue for me. I found out as I spent the last year going through therapy and counseling that it's a lot of people's issue."
He went on to explain how he was able to overcome his anger issues with the forgiveness of God and desire to change.
"A lot of times you'll always say what you'll never do, but when you can't control your anger anything can trigger and make you do something that maybe you felt like you would never do. For me, I ask God, of course I thank God for forgiveness, but for me it was more than just forgiving," Fortune previously said. "I wanted to be better. I wanted to be changed. I wanted God to do something on the inside of me so that my story, my testimony could help someone else."
