Jana Duggar News: Eldest Duggar Daughter Taking Care Of Brother Josh's Baby Girl?
Jana Duggar's family may have lost their TLC reality show "19 Kids and Counting" earlier this year, but the Arkansas-based Duggars have managed to remain relevant to their fans through regular social media updates that inevitably drum up controversy. The latest Duggar news involves 25-year-old Jana, who fans have recently started calling "Cinderella Duggar," and how her responsibilities at home seem to have kept her from living her own life.
In November, reports came out that Jana, the oldest Duggar daughter, was staying over at her sister Jessa's house and helping care for her newborn son, Spurgeon, so that Jessa and her husband, Ben Seewald, could get some sleep. This week, an Instagram video posted by Jessa showed Jana caring for her infant niece Meredith, the youngest daughter of her brother Josh and his wife Anna.
Josh is currently spending time at a "school of discipleship" after publicly apologizing for molesting five girls, including four of his sisters, when he was a teenager. He later confessed to cheating on his wife and being addicted to pornography. While he is away, it appears that his wife Anna is getting help from his family in taking care of their four young children. Luckily for him, his sister Jana has had a lot of practice in childcare.
"It's absolutely ridiculous how much the family makes Jana and the older siblings do," a source told Radar. The source added: "[Her parents] Jim Bob and Michelle have totally transitioned a lot of their parental responsibilities onto her." The source adds, "Ever since she was young, she's had to watch over the house while Jim Bob and Michelle would go out for date nights alone."
Earlier this year, a report came out saying that Jana was about to leave "19 Kids and Counting" and was planning on going to college. "Jana just turned 25, so she knows she needs to get on with her education if she doesn't want to be stuck at her mom and dad's house in Arkansas forever," a source told OK!. She reportedly told her parents that she was considering going to a Christian college and that she would soon be sending out her applications. According to the source, her parents are a bit hesitant with Jana's plans because they wanted her to follow a more conventional path, as her sisters Jill and Jessa did.
