'Jane the Virgin' Cast News, Update: Sin Rostro's Sister Set To Return for Season 2; Mexican Star Joins The Drama
Following the smashing success of its first season, The CW's hit drama TV series "Jane the Virgin" is adding more formidable names into its list of guest stars. Meanwhile, the character who primarily caused the chaos in the story is returning in Season 2.
Yara Martinez, who plays Dr. Luisa Alver, is confirmed by TVLine to appear this season. The news follows after the announcement of Bridget Regan returning as Rose.
"We have Yara Martinez, [who plays] Luisa, for the first 12 episodes," exec producer Jennie Urman told the media outlet, "which is amazing because she brings such a fresh comic energy and obviously she struggles with loving a sociopath, and that's something she hasn't quit worked out yet."

As detailed out by TVLine, Luisa's reappearance this season will serve to uncover a little bit of her sister's backstory and explain how the infamous Rose became the villainess in the story.
Meanwhile, a report from International Business Times said that the Mexican superstar Kate del Castillo is also coming over to join the romantic comedy-drama.
Announcing her involvement is none other than Jaime Camil, who plays Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) father, Rogelio, in the series.
"Welcome to #JaneTheVirgin @katedelcastillo ! / Bienvenida a @cwjanethevirgin ," his social media post reads.
It remains to be seen what kind of role the Mexican actress will play, although the Instagram picture that Camil shared hinted that she would be directly involved with Rogelio.
Apart from the 42-year-old star, "Jane the Virgin" Season 2 is slated to feature the acts of some of the big names of Hollywood entertainment. It was earlier reported that singers Britney Spears and Kesha are coming over to the show.
Spears is said to appear as herself and will go toe-to-toe with Rogelio, while the "Timber" singer is taking a guest role spot as Jane's new neighbor who is not quite happy with Jane's baby.
"Jane the Virgin" Season 2 airs October 12 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
