'Jane the Virgin' Season 3 Episode 12 Spoilers: Jane and Her Boss Go Head to Head

Jane (Gina Rodriguez) is determined to make her dream of becoming a novelist come true in the upcoming episode of "Jane the Virgin."

In the episode titled "Chapter Fifty-Six," the promo reveals that Jane wants to talk to her boss at the publishing house about the recent book deal she has received. Last episode, she was ecstatic when a publisher called her with an exciting offer. He wanted to buy Jane's novel titled "Falling Snow." It was written for Michael (Brett Dier) and shows their life together before his untimely death. Jane wrote it as a way to deal with her depression when her husband passed on. She reckoned Michael would want her to take the deal. Jane has always wanted to be an author, after all.

The teaser, however, shows that Jane's boss will not make it easy for her to quit her current job. The woman is always cranky, complains about her latte being cold and blames Jane for it. Jane still finds the courage to approach her, though. When she mentions the book deal, her boss reacts as expected. Jane tries to be patient with her, but viewers already get the idea that the meeting will end horribly. Jane's boss will definitely not like it that her employee is considering taking a new job. Will they have a showdown?

Jane has been doing well three years after her husband's death. Showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman recently told Deadline that the passing of time changed Jane. She still mourns for Michael, but she has already found the courage to move on. The offer to become a novelist is something that she has always wanted. She hates her work in the publishing house. She wants more in her life and the upcoming episodes will see her going after her dreams.

"Her life has changed in every way. And yet, she has had to carry on. She's a little older now, she's certainly less idealistic and a little more pragmatic. But she still has dreams, and hopes and fears, and beyond that — you'll see!" the EP teased, according to Deadline.

"Jane the Virgin" season 3 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
