'Jane the Virgin' Season 4 Episode 3 Spoilers: Mateo Likes His New Dada
Mateo (Joseph Sanders) seems to like Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) latest boyfriend and his potential daddy in the upcoming episode of "Jane the Virgin."
In the episode titled "Chapter Sixty-Seven," the synopsis reveals that Jane thinks it is time for her son and Adam (guest star Tyler Posey) to meet. Rafael (Justin Baldoni), of course, is not okay with the idea. He thinks that Jane is being too hasty in including her boyfriend in their family affairs. His opinion will not matter to the lady, though, since the promo photos show Adam happily interacting with Mateo. The boy appears to be enjoying his company too, judging from his excited expression. Jane also looks happy that her two boys are getting along.
The situation will take a drastic change, though, when Mateo catches the two making out on the couch. Before the incident, the promo shows Rafael escorting Mateo out of the house for a fun day together. Jane and Adam cannot wait to get their hands on each other. When Mateo unexpectedly returns home ahead of time, he sees his mom being thoroughly kissed by her male friend. The boy thinks Jane is being raped and promptly punches Adam in the face. Suffice to say Jane is embarrassed for what happened, but it remains to be seen how this will affect the boys' relationship.
In a previous interview, executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman said that Adam is not someone who is going to be a fling to Jane. She would come to accept that loving someone aside from Michael (Brett Dier) is not wrong. Adam's arrival in her life would have a huge effect. This will inevitably cause problems between her and Rafael, who is determined to make her his.
"Adam's arrival definitely changes the course of Jane's life and trajectory. Our show likes to construct, deconstruct, and reconstruct the idea of 'meant to be,'" Urman said. "Whereas Jane started off believing whole-heartedly in the idea that you are 'meant to' be with one person, as she matures, and the show matures, we look at that question, and ask if it's really true. Or is life, and romantic love, more about timing? We are, of course, always teasing out the possibility of Jane and Rafael — but we aren't looking at a traditional love triangle with those three. And I can't say anymore!" said the EP.
"Jane the Virgin" season 4 airs Fridays, at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
