'Jane the Virgin' Season 4 Spoilers: Creator Teases Naming Predicament
Things were already dramatic between Esteban Santiago (Keller Wortham), Darci Factor (Justina Machado), and her baby daddy Rogelio De La Vega (Jamie Camil) when "Jane the Virgin" season 4 opened. How much more now that they have a new baby?
"Jane the Virgin" creator Jennie Snyder Urman told TVLine that the coming of the newest members of this growing family will be very dramatic, and that was exactly what everyone saw in "Chapter Sixty-Seven." In addition, she said the parents will have trouble naming their child.
"The baby goes unnamed for a quite a while before they settle on something," the creator said. "They try out many names."
In a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, Urman shared that this complicated dynamic will work out beautifully in the end.
"The Darci-Rogelio situation has a lot of twists and turns and it's one of the arcs that I'm most excited about," Urman admitted. "She makes a surprising connection with someone from his telenovela world that starts to upset him and when the baby is born, it's a beautiful set piece that I don't want to spoil, but it's a different kind of birth than we've seen."
Rogelio is up for a really messy season. But that means it is going to be more fun to watch him with his newborn daughter, the creator said as much.
In the upcoming episode, titled "Chapter Sixty-Eight," these parents are still pondering on names for their newborn daughter. Elsewhere in the episode, the titular character, played by Gina Rodriguez, will be upset at Rafael (Justin Baldoni) for introducing his new girlfriend to Mateo (Elias Janssen). She is convinced Katherine (Alex Meneses) is a bad influence on Rafael and their son.
"Jane the Virgin" season 4 airs Fridays at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
