Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy Dating? 'DWTS' Pair Caught Backstage
Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy appears to be doing well on this season's "Dancing With The Stars" as the pair got the first perfect score of season 19, followed soon after by Bethany Mota and Derek Hough. Their jazz number to "West Side Story" song "America" won rave reviews and a total score of 40 from the judges, and they were much complimented on their skill and chemistry.
However, it looks like there's more chemistry happening between the two off the dance floor as they were caught kissing backstage.
Hollywood Life reports that on the Sept. 16 results show, Parrish and Chmerkovskiy were seen talking backstage. Parrish said that she wanted better scores, and Chmerkovskiy assured her that they will prove everyone wrong.
The two then kissed and Parrish was overheard telling her partner "I love you."
It's unclear whether the two are dating as Parrish reportedly has a boyfriend, Payson Lewis. It is being speculated that the two could be putting on a showmance to get more votes. They have even coined their very own couple name — Janelskiy.
Rumors are saying that Chmerkovskiy could be following in the footsteps of his brother, former "DWTS" pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who won the Mirror Ball trophy last season with his partner, Olympian figure skater Meryl Davis. Their chemistry and attraction to each other was so palpable on screen, and fans of the show noted how Maks behaved differently with Davis as compared to his former partners.
Until now it is being speculated whether the two are dating in real life, but both are famously tight-lipped about their personal lives. There are also numerous blogs and Tumblr accounts dedicated to the two, exhorting them to date, get married and have babies. But aside from their chemistry, it was Maks' choreography and Davis' skill that won them the title of season 18 champions of DWTS.
For now, it remains to be seen whether Janelskiy is the new Maksyl. Will they end up dating? More importantly, will they win the Mirror Ball Trophy this season?
Watch them on "Dancing With The Stars" on ABC.
