JaRay Wilson's Remains Found, Teen Shot in Head

The remains of a young girl, believed to be JaRay Wilson, have been found in Custer County, Oklahoma. Tucker Ryan McGee, 19, was arrested in connection with Wilson's murder, which authorities believe may have been drug related.

Wilson was last seen October 15, 2012 and authorities have been searching for her ever since. On Tuesday morning, they received a new tip and followed up by going to a remote location, where they found a skull and other remains they believe are those of Wilson. Tucker Ryan McGee was arrested just hours later on a first-degree murder complaint.

"One of our agents was just walking around the area when he saw a skull on the ground," Mark Woodward, a spokesman for the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, told The Oklahoman. "At that point, they just backed up and called OSBI (the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation)."

"You can be very close to something and miss it," Darrell Weaver, director of the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics told KFOR-TV. "That's just how it is. All the investigators have a child, whether it's a grandchild or a niece or someone in their life that is special to them," he added. "All of Oklahoma can relate to this case."

McGee has a history of drug use and dealing but does not have a record of any violent crimes. He pleaded guilty to drug charges in March and was sentenced to unsupervised probation. So far he has not confessed to Wilson's murder.

"It is the second cold case homicide that the multicounty grand jury unit has helped resolve within the past year to help bring closure to victims' families," Attorney General Scott Pruitt said.

Wilson's family have not commented about the discovery but her mother, Jara Wilson, did say that authorities had told them very little.

"They called us this morning and said some information had led them out here and there was a possibility of (the remains) being JaRay's. They want to have a good case that sticks … so they really haven't told us anything right now," Jara explained.
