Jason Crabb Celebrates Christmas 2012 With Sandi Patty on Tour
Grammy Award-winner Jason Crabb has embarked on a Christmas tour this year with help from fellow Christian singer Sandi Patty.
The musician and lead singer of The Crabb Family explained to The Christian Post that working with Patty was a longtime goal of his.
"When you think about Christmas and Christmas music, you immediately think of 'The Voice' of Christmas, Sandi Patty," said Crabb, 35, in an email. "So to say I am honored to spend the Christmas season singing with her is an understatement. Every time Sandi and I would see each other through the years, we'd always say, 'Let's do something together sometime,' and this year we finally made it work and I am so excited!"

Critics have deemed Patty as "The Voice" because of her wide vocal range and flexibility. The singer is a 5-time Grammy Award-winner who has appeared on "The Tonight Show" as well as at Christmas in Washington and at Walt Disney's Fourth of July Extravaganza in the past.
Crabb and Patty's "A Christmas Celebration" tour has already stopped in New York City during a performance that benefited those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
The pair will be in Beckley, West Virginia this Saturday, and will visit 12 other cities before wrapping up the tour on Dec. 21. For a full list of tour dates, visit JasonCrabb.com.
Discussing the tour, Crabb noted that he is looking forward to enjoying Patty's talents.
"Christmas is a special time of year and it will be wonderful to spend it with our friends across the country watching them sing along to the songs," said the singer. "Everyone seems to be so happy and joyful during this season- it'll be great to watch the joy on their faces!"
The tour will not be the last collaboration between the singers. Crabb and Sandy have announced the second "Sandi Patty & Friends Cruise" which will feature Crabb and other special guests such as Larnelle Harris.
Both artists are scheduled to release new albums in 2013. Crabb also opened up about how he and his family celebrate Christmas each year.
While the singer deep-fries a turkey each year, his wife Shellye makes peanut butter fudge. Also, the entire family including daughters Emma Ashleigh help decorate the Christmas tree.
More importantly, he and his family take the time to appreciate what they have while making an effort to help those less fortunate.
"This year, we felt like the girls were old enough so we took them down to Second Harvest Food Bank in Nashville to donate some time packing food and backpacks for children their age who don't have food on the weekends," said the Kentucky native.
Then, after admitting that "Away In A Manger" is his favorite Christmas song, the singer explained the tune's personal meaning.
"It tells the birth of our Savior and tells the story in a very unique and tender way," said Crabb. "It always takes me to that warm place that Christmas means and I love hearing everyone sing this song together."
With all the fun and presents involved with Christmas, Crabb said his favorite part of the holidays was celebrating Jesus Christ.
"I think celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ is the most important thing to always remember," said the musician. "He's the reason to celebrate!"
