Jay-Z, Beyonce Duet: 'Part II (On The Run)' Leaks, Fans React (AUDIO)
Jay-Z's new duet with wife, Beyonce, surfaced online Thursday and fans immediately took to social networking sites to weigh in on the highly anticipated song.
Part II (On the Run)," which is believed to be a follow up to the couple's 2002 hit "03 Bonnie and Clyde," features a slow ballad with lyrics about a rebellious couple that is desperately in love. The song will be featured on the hip hop mogul's upcoming twelfth studio album, " Magna Carta Holy Grail."
"I don't care if you on the run/Baby, as long as I'm next to you/And if loving you is a crime/Tell me why do I bring out he best in you?" Beyonce sings in the first verse.
On Twitter fans applauded the duet with some even hailing it the couple's "best" song to date. Jay-Z, 43, and Beyonce, 31, have previously teamed up on several duets including their hit songs "Crazy in Love;" "De Ja Vu;" and "Upgrade U" among others.
"I love Jay-Z and Bey's "Part II" song! They always have so much chemistry. Definitely they're best song together," Hilstrong tweeted.
"It's growing on me. I'm loving the chilled vibe, not as hectic as 'crazy n love'...I like! #partIIJayZ," Tim tweeted.
"OMG I'm obsessed with Beyonce's new duet with Jay-Z! U can tell they're more in love than ever," Lara tweeted.
Jay-Z's 13-track album, which is due for release on July 4, will be Jay-Z's first in four years. The rapper, whose real name is Shawn Carter, released "The Blueprint 3" in 2009. The album won international acclaim, a Grammy nomination, and sold 476,000 copies in its first week.
Fans were in a frenzy on June 16 when Jay-Z unexpectedly announced his twelfth studio album would be released within weeks. A video announcement reportedly aired during the NBA finals and immediately went viral on social networking sites.
