Jay-Z Debuts Album Art In Cathedral
Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, the 43-year-old rap mogul, reportedly decided to debut his artwork for the album Magna Carta Holy Grail in a cathedral despite his issues with religion.
Jay-Z premiered the cover artwork for his 12th studio album at The Salisbury Cathedral in England, U.K. recently. One of the four original Magna Carta documents that served as a charter for the king of England in 1215 is displayed in the same room as the rapper's album's cover art, The Smoking Section reports.
The publication states that Jay-Z will keep the cover art in the cathedral until the end of July.
Still, the rapper has spoken out publicly against religion including in one song featured on the album, "Heaven."

""Have mercy on a Judas/Angel wings on a 'ghini/ I'm secular tell the hecklers/Seckle down/ Y'all religion creates division/ Like my Maybach partition and/ (expletive) is my chauffeur," he rhymes on the song. "..That's me in the corner/That's me in the spotlight losing my religion."
The rapper's 12th studio album will be available to one million Samsung users who will have the opportunity to download it free on July 4 before being released to the general public on July 9. Carter first announced his upcoming album during a three minute commercial that aired during halftime of the NBA Finals' Game 5.
In the three minute commercial, Jay-Z appears with renowned Hip Hop producers Rick Rubin, Timbaland, Pharrell and Swizz Beatz. He acknowledged using unconventional methods in his latest project.
"We don't have any rules. Everyone is trying to figure it out," the rapper said in the commercial. "That's why the Internet is like the wild west ... the wild wild west. We need to write the new rules."
Jay-Z gave fans a glimpse of what they can expect from his latest release.
"Pretty much what the album is about is this duality of how do you navigate your way through this whole thing -- through success, through failures, through all this and remain yourself," the rapper said in the commercial, where he is pictured working in a studio surrounded by various producers.
