Jenna Jameson Pleads Not Guilty to DUI Charges
Former adult movie actress Jenna Jameson has pleaded not guilty to DUI charges in an Orange County, Calif., courtroom.
Jameson's lawyer John Marshall Kremer entered a not guilty plea for his client in court on Wednesday, as the pornographic movie actress was not present.
Jameson was charged with three misdemeanors for DUI after she crashed her Range Rover SUV into a lamppost in Orange County on May 25.
The 38-year old actress was found at the scene of the crash after a concerned citizen reported her erratic driving to the police.
She received one misdemeanor for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, one for having a blood alcohol level higher than the legal limit of .08 (hers was .13), and one for operating a vehicle with a suspended license.
Witnesses at the scene of the crash reported Jameson exhibiting signs of intoxication, and she was allegedly overheard saying, "I just want to go home" after she crashed her vehicle, The Christian Post previously reported.
The drugs zolpidem (Ambien) and buprenorphine (suboxone) were also found in Jameson's system, which could have impaired her driving skills, authorities said.
Jameson has had previous battles with drugs and alcohol. Her old boyfriend, Tito Ortiz, once accused her of having a prescription drug addiction, primarily to OxyContin.
Jameson has made a career for herself as an adult entertainment star. She became a more prominent mainstream figure after releasing a popular autobiography in 2004.
Jameson could face up to a year in jail if found guilty of all charges. Her pretrial date is scheduled for Aug. 16.
