The video in question shows a severed foot with painted toenails among other gruesome images, and while officials have not confirmed its authenticity, Rivera's family is reportedly convinced that the footage shows body parts belonging to Rivera.

One source explained the heartache that the Rivera family has faced particularly after seeing the haunting images. The family reportedly wants everyone who is liable to be brought to justice.

The 43-year-old mother of five was among seven on board the 1969 Learjet 25 heading from Mexico's northern city of Monterrey to Toluca at 3 a.m. Sunday following a concert performance.

Aviation authorities lost contact with the private jet approximately 10 minutes after takeoff and its scattered wreckage was found hours later in El Tejote locality, Nuevo Leon State, according to ABC News.

Rivera's remains were retrieved from the wreckage and later identified after DNA tests were performed. The remains were eventually returned to the family, said Jorge Domene, a spokesman for Mexico's Nuevo Leon state.
