Jennie Garth Divorces 'Twilight' Actor After 11 Years
Jennie Garth and "Twilight" actor Peter Facinelli recently confirmed that they are divorcing after 11 years of marriage.
"While we have decided to end our marriage, we both share the same deep love and devotion to our children. We remain dedicated to raising our beautiful daughters together. We ask for privacy and respect during this time," the couple said in a joint statement to People.com.
It is still unclear what prompted the spilt after over a decade of marriage, but the pair are reportedly focused on ensuring the well-being of their three daughters, Luca, 14, Lola, 9, and Fiona, 5.
The A-list couple wed in 2001 after meeting on the set of TV movie "An Unfinished Affair" in 1996.
Garth, 39, is best known for her role as Kelly Taylor on the renowned 1990s hit TV show "Beverly Hills, 90210," although she later went on to star in a series of films, including "Falling For You" in 1995.
Facinelli also made his debut as an actor in the nineties in the 1995 Rebecca Miller film "Angela," just one year prior to landing a role in "An Unfinished Affair" where he met Garth.
Although Garth's acting career has slowed down in recent years, 38-year-old Facinelli currently plays Carlisle Cullen in the film adaptations of Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series.
Facinelli is Garth's second husband, as she was previously married to Daniel B. Clark, a musician, though the pair divorced after just one year.
Garth and Facinelli's marriage was often praised by fans with some commending their long lasting relationship in a place like Hollywood, where divorce is all too common.
Fans took to Twitter to weigh in on the divorce and while some expressed their disappointment, others did not.
"Awww, I'm sad about Jennie Garth & Peter Facinelli geting divorced. I love them both!" Christina Reads tweeted.
"Jennie Garth is back on the market?! Sign me up!" Steven Huebsch tweeted.
