Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck Welcome Baby Boy
Jennifer Garner and husband Ben Affleck have welcomed a son into their family.
The baby, name still unknown, joins big sisters Seraphina Rose and Violet Anne. Garner previously told Ellen DeGeneres, "It would be so weird to have a boy," after having two girls. Seraphina and Violet had taken to giving the baby Disney-based names: Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and Smee.
After announcing the pregnancy in August, Garner and Affleck made the decision to keep the baby's sex a secret, though they both knew. "I would have thought [he wanted a boy]," Garner told Jay Leno. "And then [Ben] kind of said, 'Well, we have girls. We know how to do girls. My girls love me. I'm the big guy in the house.' So now I'm not sure."
Affleck will now have a back-up for gender-based family fights. According to People, Affleck previously joked about being outnumbered by a three-to-one ratio in the house, though he has always said that his children inspire him. "I wanted to do something more with my life than just make movies and try to make money," he told People.
"I wanted to do something that was important to me in other ways and would serve as an example to my kids. I tell them it's important to be involved in the world in ways that help others and not just yourself," he added.
Just last week Garner and Affleck took their daughters on a family outing to Disneyland. According to Us Weekly, "Ben, Jennifer and their daughters were in line for 'It's a Small World.' The older girl [Violet] was so excited! She kept pointing things out during the ride."
Garner and Affleck were married in 2005 after a year of dating. The couple met while working on the film "Daredevil" and got engaged on Garner's 33rd birthday. They married in a private ceremony in the Caribbean and had daughter Violet Anne in 2005.
