Jennifer Hudson Forgives Murderer William Balfour, Says 'It's Not His Fault'
Jennifer Hudson has spoken out about her ex-brother-in-law, who murdered her mother, brother, and nephew. In a new interview, Hudson said that she forgave William Balfour for the killings and that they were, "for the most part, not his fault."
It was in 2008 that Balfour went on a rampage and shot Hudson's brother before killing her mother. It is alleged that he kidnapped 7-year-old Julian, Hudson's nephew, and drove him to another location before killing him as well. Hudson was left devastated by the deaths, especially after having to identify the bodies of her mother and brother.
Balfour was charged with, and found guilty of, three counts of murder. He was sentenced to three life sentences and is currently behind bars. Hudson has not spoken very much about the murders, but has now had the opportunity to finally address her feelings toward Balfour.

"For the most part, it's not his fault," she explained. "It's what he was taught, how he was brought up. You never had a chance. Had you had the love my mother gave us, or the background…that some have, then you would've stood a chance."
"There were so many shocks involved in it [dealing with the murders]… Like, who do I grieve for first, or who do I start with? It's bits and pieces. It's too much. You're confused; your emotions are confused," Hudson added.
Since the murders, Hudson has welcomed new life into her family. Son David Daniel Otunga Jr. three years ago. He has helped fill a void in her life and provides countless hours of entertainment.
"I feel like I had a little Michael Jackson," she told MTV News. "He'd be in the backseat of the car [moving] his little shoulder to anything that comes on the radio, and then I turn around like, 'What are you doing?' and he laughs like, 'Ha!' What, you didn't think I had that move?'"
Hudson also admitted in the interview that she hadn't visited her family's gravesides since the funeral. "I haven't been to the graveside since we buried them, but now I want to go because I feel like OK, we've accomplished things."
