Jennifer Lopez News: Singer Claims Split from Ben Affleck Was Her First 'Real Heartbreak'
Jennifer Lopez is no stranger to finding love and losing it. The star dated and got engaged to Ben Affleck in 2002 before breaking up two years later. After her breakup, she rekindled a romance with singer Marc Anthony and married him in June 2004. They had two children, twins Max and Emme, before getting divorced in July of 2011. Then, in November 2011, she started dating dancer Casper Smart before breaking up with him in June of this year.
In her new memoir titled "True Love," Lopez reveals what she felt in her past relationships, her first heartbreak, and how she and Anthony knew that it was time to call it quits.
"When Ben and I split up at the moment when I thought we were committing to each other forever it was my first real heartbreak, it felt like my heart had been torn out of my chest," she said of her split with Affleck. "I sought out comfort in another person, tried to find someone who could make me feel loved … And that was the moment when Marc reappeared in my life."

Lopez also revealed that Anthony told her that he was not happy in their marriage.
"I really thought I had done everything I could—as a wife, as a partner, and as a mother to his children," she said.
The singer also said that though each relationship had their issues, there was one thing they had in common.
"They all had a passionate intensity that I mistook, every time, for my happily ever after. Reality is hard to see through the adrenaline rush of a new love," Lopez admitted.
Jennifer Lopez's memoir, "True Love," will be released on Nov. 4.
