Jennifer Lopez's Son Gets Stitches: Mom 'Freaking Out' Over Accident
Jennifer Lopez admitted to "freaking out" recently after her 5-year-old required stitches.
The celebrity mom did not reveal what kind of accident her 5-year-old was the victim of, though she did say that it resulted in him need stitches under his chin. But while she had a bit of a mom "freak" out, her son said it simply "tickled."
"Max got stitches on his chin," the 43-year-old singer told Us Weekly at the opening of Hakkasan Nightclub in Las Vegas on Saturday, Apr. 27. "You know, I hear all little boys have a little scar on their chin. Of course I was freaking out, but he was fine. He said it tickled."
Lopez was joined in Vegas by her son, his twin sister Emme, and her current love interest, Casper Smart. The kids father, Marc Anthony, completed the group. While Lopez wasn't on stage, Anthony helped to take care of the kids, which gave the singer much appreciated down time.
"It's a little night off from being a mom and that's exciting," she told People magazine. "It's nice to have a little down time."
On their night off, Lopez and Smart went to mega club Hakkasan inside the MGM Grand where Vanessa Hudgens and Cheryl Burke were also enjoying a night out. Grammy award winning DJ Calvin Harris played music in the main room, according to People.
Reports surfaced last week that "American Idol" producers were desperate for Lopez to return back to the show and take the place of Mariah Carey. The show has been struggling with ratings; it reached one of its all time lows last week with numbers that compare to when the show was first introduced. But despite the need for a switch up, show producer Nigel Lythgoe told The Hollywood Reporter that he was not considering a mid-season switch up.
"I have not been included in any conversation regarding replacing Mariah with Jen this season," he said.
