Jeremy Lin in Line for Three-Team Trade; Bulls Likely Destination

Houston Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin could be in line for a three-team trade according to some reports, which could end up with him moving to the Chicago Bulls before the winter trade deadline.

The Houston Forward Times noted that the Rockets have "desperately" been trying to trade off defensive center Omer Asik, and a deal concerning Lin could lead to the Turkish basketball player going to the Atlanta Hawks.

Lin could be traded to Chicago, while the Bulls' small forward, Luol Deng, could be headed in the opposite direction.

Lin has been the center of trade rumors for the past couple of weeks now, with the LA Lakers another talked about destination for the popular Christian basketball player.

"And I know this is blasphemy, but I'm telling you right now: Jeremy Lin could also be on his way out of Houston," Alan Hahn of ESPN Radio said in December.

"If they can find a taker for him and that contract ... like I said from what I heard, I've talked to some GM's from around the league, there is a strong feeling that if the Rockets can find a taker, they will definitely move Jeremy Lin, that's for sure," he added.

The Forward Times noted that the Bulls could be especially interested in Lin because of the season-long injury of their star player Derrick Rose, leaving the team in need of a good point guard.

"Of course, Jeremy Lin isn't as productive and as skilled as Rose. Nonetheless, he is a terrific scorer and he is a player who can emerge as the star of the team. Lin has the ability to create his own offense and he is also a player who draws much defensive attention," the Houston publication noted.

It also pointed out that Lin, who rose to popularity while with the New York Knicks, is averaging 14.7 points, 4.2 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.
