Jeremy Lin Injury News: Brooklyn Nets Point Guard Ready to Play on Feb. 24

Jeremy Lin is just about ready to get back on the court and shoot some hoops for the Brooklyn Nets. The 28-year-old basketball player strained his left hamstring, effectively forcing him to sit out several games. But all that is about to change.

According to the New York Post, Lin will finally join the rest of his team on the court on Feb. 24 in Denver, Colorado. After spending a lot of time on the bench, Lin returned to practice on Tuesday.

"He did pretty much everything, even a little extra afterwards, played a little full-court. So [it's] good news," Brooklyn Nets coach Kenny Atkinson said. "He's going to get that 10-day All-Star period to get his rhythm, get in better shape, work on his cardio. ... He looked good, shot the ball well."

Lin joining the Nets was a big deal for Atkinson and the rest of the team. According to the coach, Lin's inclusion really "gives the whole organization, our team, some stability, [to] see all of our players with a guy of Jeremy's caliber and experience."

Fans are undoubtedly excited for the point guard's return. His condition has improved and he is ready to compete again. Earlier this month, Lin provided an update on his health in a Weibo Q&A with his fans.

"I'm progressing every day. I can jump and run now. I can also shoot," he said at the time. Lin also talked about his relationship with coach Atkinson and his teammates, saying they "always hang out together."

Lin has been feeling rather bad about not being able to play on the court alongside his teammates. His absence has also been weighing on general manager Sean Marks as the NBA trade deadline approaches. Not seeing the team in full, healthy condition makes it difficult to decide which players to trade and which ones to keep because some of them have been playing out of position.
