Jeremy Lin News: Jeremy Lin Gets a Cold Reception at Madison Square
Jeremy Lin's career took off to a whole new level when he played for the New York Knicks, and so it is quite disheartening when he gets jeered at Madison Square Garden, the place where "Linsanity" started.
After leading a winning streak for the New York Knicks in 2012, playing two seasons with the Rockets, and being acquired by the LA Lakers in a trade, Lin has currently found a new home with the Charlotte Hornets. Lin spent most of last season with the Knicks, and not to forget the controversial move by NY Knicks to let go of Lin, many have been wondering how fans will react when Lin steps out into Madison Square Garden once more — this time in a visiting uniform. And as many predicted, last Tuesday, Nov. 17, wearing a No. 7 Charlotte Hornets uniform, Lin was jeered at from the same place that once cheered him on.
According to News Day, Lin was asked about what happened during the game, and he said, "I guess it shows it's just on to the next thing, which it should be for them." He then further added that he was somehow expecting this to happen, as he shares, "I'd be surprised if I came back and kept getting cheered. Knicks fans should root for the Knicks players."
Whether or not Lin's play got affected during that night, his performance was subpar compared to his previous games. Despite having 3 assists in the first half, he faltered to a mere two points and no assist in the second. At the end, the Knicks won at 102-94 against the Hornets, but Lin admits that what happened was simply part of the game. He says, "We didn't hit a lot of shots that we normally make and we didn't defend the way we're capable of." He furthers shares, "That's what sticks out more than anything for me. I'm going to score within the flow of the offense. Sometimes it's going my way and sometimes it's not."
