Jeremy Lin Rumors: Is 'Linsanity' Finally Getting This Year's NBA Sixth Man?

As the season seems to be colorful for Charlotte Hornets, the rumors keep coming, especially for point guard Jeremy Lin, who has been an efficient team player in the past games.

One of the hottest rumors is that of the undrafted guard possibly making it in the list of top contenders for the Sixth Man of the Year award. The rumor follows Lin's performance for the past games that gave the Hornets a record of 16-13 win-loss record, making them a threat for the Playoffs.

ESPN's stats reveal that while coming off the bench, Lin was able to average 11.7 points, 3.1 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game. Reports suggest that if the Hornets get into the Playoffs with Lin retaining his tough and aggressive stint, he may possibly pass up as a leading contender for the award.

According to The Sports Quotient, Lin's name is included in talks for the said award, including Will Barton of the Denver Nuggets, Victor Oladipo from Orlando Magic, and New Orleans Pelicans' Ryan Anderson.

Also, the "Linsanity" star is eighth in line on the list of players possibly joining the Eastern Conference. Joining him from his team is Nicolas Batum, who is currently in 10th place.

While it is too early to say Lin will be playing in the NBA All-Star, Swarm and Sting says he could possibly be in the game if he wins the votes of coaches. On the other hand, there is still a lot of time for the numbers to be computed with a final count, and if the Harvard University alum continuous to rock the court, he might get the chance to play as an All-Star.

"Linsanity" first emerged when the Asian basketball star turned the tables in favor of his team during the 2011-2012 NBA season, the New York Knicks. When he moved to the Houston Rockets and was acquired by the Los Angeles Lakers, he wasn't able to use his skills and gained a lot of critics.

However, off-season proved to be a good time for him as he was acquired by the Hornets and since then has gradually picked up the pieces left of the "Linsanity" craze that people loved three years back.
