Jerome Harrison 'Excited' About Philadelphia Eagles Trade

Jerome Harrison, 28-year-old running back, will be suiting up for the Philadelphia Eagles once again.

Harrison was traded from Cleveland to the Eagles during the midseason one year ago, but ended up a Detroit Lions Jersey. However, he was given back to the Eagles in exchange for running back Ronnie Brown and a 2013 draft pick before the trade deadline Tuesday.

During his short time in Philadelphia last year, Harrison had 239 rushing yards and one touchdown. In an official statement released by the Eagles, general manager Howie Roseman said he felt good about the trade.

"We're excited to reacquire Jerome Harrison and add another draft pick in 2013," Roseman said. "Jerome had a lot of success in Philadelphia last season, and he adds another back to LeSean McCoy and Dion Lewis contingent.”

The running back said he felt good to be back in the Eagles’ jersey, although he was initially confused about the trade.

“I didn't know if somebody was playing or not, but then once I realized it was serious, I was like 'Cool,' you know, play for a great coach, great organization," Harrison said in a statement on the Eagles’ website.

"I'm excited to be back. The week off will be huge to get back in the playbook and start hearing the terminology again. I have been checking out the Eagles to see how LeSean (McCoy) is doing, and he's doing great. I'm excited to be back," he added.

Although Roseman expressed his excitement for acquiring Harrison, he also acknowledged Brown’s contributions to the team.

“We want to thank Ronnie Brown for his contributions over the past six games and we wish him the best of luck in Detroit," Roseman said.

Although Roseman thanked Brown, the running back has been underperforming with the Eagles recently.

Aside from his 13 carries for 38 yards with the team, he has been under fire by fans for a major fumble against the San Francisco 49ers during an Oct. 2 game that factored into his team’s loss.

Although Harrison had 14 carries for 41 yards with the Lions this season, he is known for previously leading the Browns with 194 carries for 862 yards and five touchdowns.
