Jessica Biel's 'The Sinner' Incestuous Sex Scene Shocks Viewers

Jessica Biel's latest television series after a short hiatus from acting is getting raves. The murder mystery "The Sinner" shows a different side to the actress but a recent episode featuring an incestuous sex scene left viewers shocked.

The sixth episode that aired on Wednesday, Sept. 6, on USA Network featured Biel's character, Cora Tannetti, in a raunchy sex scene with her sister Phoebe (Nadia Alexander). The latter wanted to experience what sex is like as she will never have this moment with any partner due to a life-long illness.

Phoebe manipulated Cora into touching and kissing her sexually. Cora obliged to show how damaged she's been for being perennially blamed for Phoebe's illness by their abusive parents.

The steamy scene had fans expressing their shock on social media.

"I just watched the Sinner & she really kissed her own sister. I need to bleach my eyes out," Alexis on Twitter said.

"That scene turned my stomach. Her sister is mentally bullying her and does. Her sister is a huge manipulator," Delisa commented on Facebook.

Based on Petra Hammesfahr's 1999 novel "The Sinner," the show was never for general patronage to begin with. The theme of the story mostly dealt with sensitive scenes but the last episode was described as "pure filth."

Others said the scene with the sisters qualified as X-rated while some looked past the sex and profanity and said that "The Sinner" told a compelling story. Reviews for the show have been generally positive, however, and Biel's performance impressed the critics.

Biel also isn't one to shy away from doing something so bold. Before she took a break from acting due to motherhood, the actress did sexy scenes and stripped down in the 2009 movie "Powder Blue" and the 2007 comedy "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry."

"If a director I trusted came to me with an amazing opportunity and it felt organic, I would do it," Biel told Daily Mail in 2011.
