'Jessica Jones' Season 2 News: Ritter on Superhero Approach

With the conclusion of the successful first season of "Jessica Jones," the actress behind the iconic character was able to share some insight about the character.

Fans were recently introduced to a new Marvel character, Jessica Jones, who presented a different kind of superhero. It was stated that Jessica was different from the already existing Marvel superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as she resembled a more human character.

It was revealed that Jessica Jones was a former superhero, alongside the Avengers. However, she decided to quit and take on a private investigating firm, due to the villain named Kilgrave. Fans also saw the notorious villain, who also introduced a new kind of villain to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Kilgrave had the ability to control anyone, just by telling them what to do. The first season of "Jessica Jones" focused on how Jessica was one of this victims before. Also, it showed Jessica's struggle over Kilgrave's control.

The season also explored their intriguing relationship, which was different from the typical villain and hero relationship seen on most superhero films and series.

Krysten Ritter, who plays the role of Jessica Jones, was able to share some interesting details about her character. She stated that while playing Jessica, she never intended to portray her as a character. According to Deadline, she said, "I never played her like a superhero. When I was building the character, I felt like if I threw a punch and somebody is going through a wall because of it that was because she was so strong inside. [Her powers] was just an extension of what she really is."

The executive producer of the series also shared some interesting insight about their creation process. She said, "We were always approaching the powers as a matter-of-fact. It's simply who she is."

There has yet to be any details regarding the return of "Jessica Jones" on Netflix.
