'Jessica Jones' Season 2 News: Will Marvel Renew the Series?
After a successful first season of the Netflix series "Jessica Jones," fans are wondering if a second one will be released in the near future.
Previous reports stated that it is unlikely for the series "Jessica Jones" to receive a second season. According to the show's executive producer, Melissa Rosenberg, it is still unsure whether Marvel will be pushing forward with the series due to the upcoming new series in the works.
However, the star of the Netflix series, Krysten Ritter, recently shared some details that hinted at another chance to see Jessica in action once again.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress shared that she is looking forward to show more about Jessica's story after her encounter with Kilgrave.
She stated, "It's such a tricky thing. I'm not supposed to talk about that. But I think there is lots of story left to tell with Jessica and I really love playing the character. I would love to throw on her boots and leather jacket anytime."
However, the decision to continue the series will depend on Marvel. There are speculations that Marvel is currently in discussion regarding the return of the series due to the statements made by Ritter herself.
Along with her return, it is also expected that her love interest in the series, Luke Cage, will also be receiving his own solo adventures. There are also reports that Marvel is currently working on an ensemble series that includes Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and other superheroes from Hell's Kitchen. With that, many of the Netflix Marvel series could be experiencing a crossover in the near future.
While it has yet to be confirmed, the production of "Jessica Jones" season 2 can be expected sometime next year.
