'Jessica Jones' Season 2 Plot News: Is Kilgrave Still in the Next Installment?

While the titular heroine portrayed by Krysten Ritter has already killed her abuser Kilgrave (David Tennant) in the first season of Marvel's "Jessica Jones," reports are suggesting that the presence of the bad guy might still be felt in the upcoming installment of the show.

In a recent report from The Daily Dot, the possibility that Kilgrave might still be featured in the show was presented. However, the report says that it is likely he will only be shown in flashbacks.

The same report noted that in an earlier interview of "Jessica Jones" showrunner Melissa Rosenberg with Entertainment Weekly, she dropped a hint that might support the claim.

When Entertainment Weekly asked, "What can you say of figuring out who will be the new antagonist?" Rosenberg answered with, "Or antagonists, plural."

As to the question of how can anyone top the performance Tennant had as Kilgrave, the showrunner said, "You don't do that." According to Rosenberg, it would be impossible for anyone to beat Tennant's acting as Kilgrave so there is no way she will even try to surpass that. She called it the "biggest mistake" to attempt to replicate that kind of performance.

On the other hand, Ritter has also earlier discussed that killing Kilgrave will ironically have a negative effect on Jessica. In an interview with the Today show, Ritter explained that offing Kilgrave left her character very confused and further explained: "Her reason for getting up in the morning was her nemesis, this awful villain and her abuser—and she kills him. And Jessica is not a murderer ... so I think that's gonna come with a lot of emotional weight and baggage that we'll see how she deals with it."

Netflix and Marvel Entertainment are yet to release a trailer video for "Jessica Jones" season 2. However, earlier last year, the show's official Twitter page has already fed its fans with a clear confirmation that Jessica's company Alias Investigations will be up and running next season.

The social media page shared a photo of Alias Investigation's memo pad with its contact number that when dialed is actually working. Anyone who calls the number will be redirected to the company's voicemail and where Jessica says, "Alias Investigations. We've got cases and s*** so leave a message."

"Jessica Jones" season 2 is expected to arrive in 2018 after Marvel's "The Defenders" on Netflix.
