Jessica Simpson Signs $3M Weight Watchers Deal
Pop star Jessica Simpson has signed a new deal with the popular weight loss program Weight Watchers.
Simpson’s deal, worth $3 million, will help Simpson lose her baby weight while promoting the program, according to the New York Post.
The figure was initially rumored to be $4 million.
Simpson will start the program as soon as she gives birth to her baby with fiancé NFL player Eric Johnson.
“The deal is in place, and after having her baby, she’ll start with Weight Watchers to lose her baby weight," a source close to Simpson has said to the New York Post.
The former reality star has had a long public battle with weight gain.
“I got so much scrutiny for putting on extra pounds, but I think that the decision not to make myself anorexic was actually great for branding. Because when you're really, really skinny, not everybody can relate to you," Simpson told Lucky Magazine in November.
Jessica Simpson will join singer Jennifer Hudson, Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, and actress Jenny McCarthy in the list of celebrity spokeswomen for Weight Watchers.
