Jews for Jesus Invite Teens to Witness Jesus in New York
Messianic believing teens between the ages of 16 and 18 can now learn how to evangelize on the streets of New York City by getting involved in a two-week Halutzim Ministry with Jews for Jesus.
The ministry is hoping teens will be exposed to fellowship, Bible learning, and will gain experience in how to give witness to Jesus Christ.
Halutzim is a Hebrew word that means pioneers. According to David Brickner, executive director for Jews for Jesus, the teens have the chance to meet other believers and make friends for life.
“The Halutzim ministry has been around for 15 years and usually about a dozen kids come to New York City for this yearly program,” Brickner told The Christian Post.
“We take them to the Jewish museum, to the lower East Side and to Jewish delicatessens. They get to meet other people with their beliefs and its great and most of the teens come back for another Halutzim program the following year.”
Brickner said that these teens are paired up with college kids when they go to witness in the streets of New York.
“This has been a great way to raise up a generation,” said Brickner. “Some of these kids come from mixed families, some come from religious Jewish families and some are from non-religious families. The teens just love it.”
Jews for Jesus is a pioneering organization with 19 branches worldwide. The dates for the Halutzim this year are July 12-26.
