'Jill & Jessa: Counting On' News: Sisters Moving On as First Episode Airs
On Sunday's premiere of "Jill & Jessa: Counting On," the Duggar siblings shared how they are coping following a scandalous year that their elder brother Josh got the family into.
The first episode was full of emotions as Jill (Duggar) Dillard and Jessa (Duggar) Seewald shared their journey of moving on and putting the past year behind their backs to start anew with their own families, especially Jessa, who just gave birth last month to baby Spurgeon.
The episode started with both sisters taking care of the home and being mothers and wives to their husbands, and after discussing the Dillards' mission in South America, as well as the Seewalds' preparations for welcoming their first child, the TLC special tackled how the two started their lives over again.
Just this year, their brother, Josh, was involved in two scandals that turned their family upside down and led to the cancellation of "19 Kids and Counting," the show that transformed the Christian family into stars.
Josh confessed to pornography addiction, as well as cheating on his wife but the first scandal was what involved Jill and Jessa. The 27-year-old son of Jim Bob and Michelle confessed that he inappropriately touched five young girls as a teen, including Jill and Jessa.
According to People, Jill said, "We had moved on from there." She also said it was hard at first, especially with so many people learning about the incident and the media slamming it on their faces for quite some time. On the other hand, she said, "Jess and I can say that we've chosen to forgive Josh. That's an important part of our healing. If you don't forgive you can't move on."
Apparently, the two ladies have finally let go of their past and are focused on their own lives — Jill on her family and mission and Jessa on being a new mom.
Episode 2 of "Jill & Jessa: Counting On" airs on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015 at 8 p.m. on TLC.
