Jill Zarin Slams Bethenny Frankel 'Fake' Show After Rejecting Appearance Offer
Jill Zarin recently explained her decision to reject an offer made by her former rival, Bethenny Frankel, after reports claimed the reality TV personality had been approached to appear on the "Bethenny" show.
The former "Real Housewives of New York" star, 49, was reportedly approached by a booker from Frankel's talk show to appear as part of a "Housewives" reunion however she admittedly has no interest in being a part of the show, which she described as being "fake." Zarin opened up about rejecting Frankel's offer and taking offense to the Skinny Girl entrepreneur's indirect communication.
"I flat out said 'no' when they asked me to go on her show. Does she think I'm just going to show up and she's going to come out and do her fake show and then run away?" Zarin told Life and Style magazine.
"She couldn't pick up the phone and call me herself. I was shocked. She should've called," she continued. "I'm in a neutral zone with Bethenny; we've communicated. I was hurt that she didn't call me because I did e-mail and congratulate her on the show, so it wasn't like we hadn't spoken."
Zarin and Frankel, 42, were often seen clashing on the hit Bravo TV show, despite having once had a seemingly solid friendship. The jewelry designer believes Frankel may have had her staff contact Zarin, along with their former costar Alex McCord, in an attempt to boost ratings for the talk show.
"I was hoping she was looking for resolution and not to use me for ratings. I was looking for an honest and real conversation. I felt I deserved that because we were such good friends."
On Thursday reports claimed McCord, a successful author and designer, was offered $400 to appear on Frankel's show. The mother of two, 40, confirmed that she too had rejected an offer to appear on the "Bethenny" show.
"I said, 'Show me the money.' Her offer was laughable. It was less than union scale. I would make more money sending one fashion tweet," McCord said in an online video. "If she wants me she's got to make it worth my while."
