Jillian Michaels Car Stolen, Home Robbed
Fitness mogul Jillian Michaels has had her home burglarized as well as her car stolen this week.
The celebrity trainer woke in her home on Tuesday to discover that her belongings had been picked off by a burglar who also drove off with her Bentley. The luxury vehicle is worth $184,000.
Michaels filed the report that morning, and shortly after police say they saw a man driving the stolen vehicle in the area. A chase ensued, ending when the driver crashed the Bentley into a pole. The suspect was then taken into custody.
Following the disturbing event Michaels' representative confirmed the safety of the star, who has a young family.
"Hi guys, thanks so much for all your concern regarding the burglary," the 38-year-old wrote on Twitter. "We are all fine & that's what counts. Stuff is just stuff after all."
Michaels rose to fame after appearing on "The Biggest Loser." She and her partner Heidi Rhoades recently welcome two children. In May, Rhoades gave birth to a son, Phoenix, and just one week later the couple was finally able to bring home their adopted daughter, 2-year-old Lukensia, from Haiti.
"We're swimming in babies over here," said Michaels speaking to People magazine following the arrival of her children. "I don't even answer email. I don't have time to care about anything else. I want to be really present and enjoy all the nuances of their growth and development. I don't want to rush any of it."
In addition to starring as a coach on NBC's "Biggest Loser" until 2010, Michaels has a series of weight-loss DVDs that have sold thousands of copies in the U.S. The personal trainer most recently released "Kickbox Fastfix" in March.
In 2011, Michaels worked as a co-host on the syndicated daytime talk show "The Doctors" for half of a season.
