Jim Carrey News: Carrey Hosts 'Saturday Night Live,' Gets Rave Reviews
After laying low for a few years, expectations were high for Jim Carrey as the 52-year old comedian took the stage at last Saturday's episode of "Saturday Night Live," a few weeks before the release of his latest film, "Dumb and Dumber To." This is the third time in 18 years that Carrey has hosted the NBC sketch comedy series.
Carrey was in his element and was as hilarious as ever, and the sketches that the funnyman did were well-received. One of the funniest bits of the night was his parody of Matthew McConaughey's recent foray into car commercials. Carrey did a spot-on take of the actor's Southern twang while delivering the funny voiceover.
"Sometimes you gotta go back to actually go back to actually move forward and I don't mean go back and reminisce or chase ghosts," said Carrey as he perfectly mimicked McConaughey's accent. "I mean take a big step back, like go from winning an Oscar to doing a car commercial. My agent was like, 'I can understand if you did this right after The Lincoln Lawyer. That would've made sense.'"

Another hilarious sketch called "Carrey Family Reunion" involved all of the cast members spoofing characters from his films, from "Ace Ventura" to the "The Cable Guy," and "The Mask." The skit also featured "Dumb and Dumber To" co-star Jeff Daniels as Carrey's character in the movie, Lloyd Christmas.
The actor showed his prowess at physical comedy when he and Kate McKinnon dressed up as the dancer in Sia's "Chandelier" music video. Wearing nude-colored leotards, the two had a dance off through several sets, and at one point even musical guest Iggy Azalea joined in on the fun.
Jim Carrey will be seen again on the big screen when his latest movie, "Dumb and Dumber To" premieres on Nov. 14.
