Jimmy Fallon and Madonna Interview Offers Tour Details
Madonna was interviewed by Jimmy Fallon Saturday evening for a live streaming event on her Facebook page. The interview was used to take questions from fans and to let them know about her new album, MDNA, which is being released Monday.
Madonna has taken a slightly different approach to promoting her new album, and has been focusing on social media sites and the Internet, rather than going on talk shows and giving magazine interviews.
During Saturday's interview Fallon explained that this would be Madonna's only promotional interview for the upcoming release. He joked, "What if it doesn't work out? You're Madonna. But did you think about my career?"
The two also spoke about her upcoming tour, where Madonna confirmed she would not be using any elements of her Super Bowl halftime show that millions saw. Instead the shows would be divided into acts. She said, "I like to have a theme for my show and create a dramatic arc. Then I try to make the songs fit within that arc."
She added that the rehearsals for her upcoming tour had been "violent," describing the grueling routines she had been practicing. Madonna explained, "I'm covered in bruises right now."
The new tour to promote her new album will commence May 29 in Israel.
